Ingredients

For the tacos:

  • 1 onion, chopped
  • 1 clove garlic, chopped
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil
  • 1 3/4 cups Les Brutes TVP
  • 4 cups vegetable broth
  • 4 cups vegetable broth
  • 1 tsp. cinnamon, ground
  • 1/2 tsp. cloves, ground
  • 1/2 tsp. salt
  • ground pepper
  • 1 cup quick-cooking rolled oats

How to prepare

  1. In a saucepan over medium heat, soften onion and garlic in oil. Add TVP, broth, spices and salt. Stir well with a wooden spoon. Season with pepper. Cover and simmer over low heat for 10 minutes, stirring occasionally.

2. Add the rolled oats. Continue cooking, uncovered, until all the liquid has evaporated, about 3 minutes.

3. Transfer to a loaf pan, ramekins or other containers. Cover with plastic wrap directly on the surface of the greaves. Refrigerate 4 hours or until completely chilled.

Storage

7-10 days in the refrigerator, cannot be frozen.
