The Brutes' Shawarma with Strips

Ingredients

  • 1 bag (150 g) of Les Brutes strips
  • 2 cups hot vegetable broth
  • 1 1/2 to 2 tablespoons of Fattoush Girls Shawarma Spices
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil
  • 1 tbsp lemon juice
  • 1 small clove of minced garlic (optional but wow)
  • 1 tsp maple syrup (optional – for a toasted effect)

Preparation

  1. Rehydrate
    Pour 2 cups of hot broth over the strips.
    Allow to rise for 8–10 minutes.
    Drain lightly (leave some moisture).
  2. Season
    Add :
    shawarma spices
    olive oil
    lemon
    garlic
    Mix and let stand for 5–10 minutes.
  3. Cooking
    Pan nice and hot (medium-high heat).
    Cook for 6–8 minutes, stirring occasionally.
  4. For a "rotisserie" effect:
    Add the maple syrup in the last 2 minutes
    Let it caramelize lightly
    Optional: 2–3 minutes in a 400°F oven

Can be frozen: Yes, up to 2 months
Reheating: Pan 3–4 min or microwave 1–2 min
Tip: Add a teaspoon of water before heating to prevent it from drying out.
